Dr Olivier Noel grew up in Haiti and moved to Queens, NY at age 18. He graduated from Queens College in New York, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry with a concentration in Biochemistry and Honors in Biomedical science research in 2011. He is now an M.D./Ph.D. student at the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine.
Additionally, Dr Noel is the founder and CEO of DNAsimple, a startup company that helps accelerate genetic research by connecting DNA donors with research scientists. In 2017, he was named a “30 Under 30” honoree in science by Forbes magazine, a Top 40 Healthcare Transformer by MM&M Magazine and a Top 10 Most Influential Haitians by MagHaiti Magazine. Dr Noel has also been featured in the New York Daily News, NPR, ABC, CBS radio, CNBC and other prominent news outlets for his academic and entrepreneurial achievements. Most recently, Dr Noel was featured on ABC’s Shark Tank where he stroke a deal with the billionaire mogul Mark Cuban for his company DNAsimple.
